Because of all of these tragic experiences, she wants to obtain blue eyes, which symbolizes that she wants to be white. She thinks blue-eyed children can devastate all others. She always prays for eyes to turn blue, when her eyes turned blue, she will be beautiful, so the people will look at her, so that her world will be different. In addition, if she got blue eyes, she will be acceptable to her family, schoolmates, and neighbors and all of the people would be convinced that she is not ugly. This desire nudges Pecola into a gradual state of insanity. I think the title of this book introduces the desire of the character in this story. The title also describes what the story is about.

I don’t like this story because it is too sad and I think it is poorly organized and almost can not understand. In addition, I don’t like this story because it is too boring and long.
